Time for another hike! :)

"Climb every mountain"
Josh and I both had no plans this past Monday (no class either), so we decided to go for a nice hike! We took a bus to the road that lead up to the trail for Ma On Shan, a mountain not too far from CUHK's campus. You could actually see the campus across the water from the hike! Luckily the weather was a bit clearer than the Suicide Cliff hike, so we could actually see things! We followed a blog called Journey Era for directions, and this trail was also one that was off the beaten path, pretty rigorous aka my kind of hike. We also felt reassured following the little ribbons/flags made out of blue and yellow Ikea bags throughout the trail😂

Had to do a bit of rock climbing at parts as well. Super fun!

Got super dirty climbing up but overall the weather was great. At the peak of the mountain, we were in the cloud and enjoyed the cool mist blowing past us. It felt so powerful to walk on the ridge and see mountains on both sides of me below! We ate some bao that we brought with us, which tasted so much better after hiking uphill. The view was gorgeous! My phone was low on storage so I didn't take too many pictures--plus, I wanted to live in the moment and remember the moment instead of looking back through a picture.

As the sun peaked its way out from the clouds, we reached a clearing with a field of cows and people picnicking. Such a beautiful sight, I remember saying I wanted to bottle up the feeling:)
We finished the trail and ended up in the beautiful town of Sai Kung, which is where Mr. Zhang took us! :) We walked along the waterfront and took in the sights, sounds, and smells of the seafood area. After much indecisiveness, Josh and I finally settled on the same restaurant Mr. Zhang took us. It was a super late lunch/early dinner, but we feasted as usual! We ordered the 2 person meal and selected lobster with pasta and cheese, clams, crab, and pork with pineapple. The meal also came with veggies and oranges. Here's a pic of two of the things we ordered:

We walked around after and then I took Josh to the Honemoon Dessert place that I love! We split a sweet soup and some milk oreo mochi. Josh loooved the mochi! You stir it up and it forms into little balls covered in oreo pieces. The other dessert we got was great because I got to try the grass jelly (super good!) and red bean (not my fave haha). We topped it off with matcha ice cream and mango/taro mochi.

After a full day of hiking and delicious food, we took the bus back to campus. I'm realizing I haven't said many details of the hike, but we had great conversation and tons of jokes. The ground was only slippery on the way down, and we laughed whenever we tried to pull ourselves up some rocky steps by grabbing onto a leaf😂 (as if that would hold our weight). This might be one of my top hikes!:)
