Shopping, photoshoots, & dessert. Am I in a movie?!

I'm a bit behind on these blog posts, but I really want to do one post for each amazing new place or day I've had, so this post is me reflecting on a day last week!
An inch of time is an inch of gold but you can't buy that inch of time with an inch of gold.
For someone who's had 21 days in quarantine, the past week sure has felt way longer thanks to all the amazing things we've been up to!! I've been making the most of every second for sure--forget Emily in Paris, this is Zoë in Hong Kong:)

Speaking of Paris, I started my day with some French toast (except this had peanut butter inside, a Hong Kong specialty). One of our CUHK friends, Millicent, took us to the mall in Sha Tin. It was my first time ever riding on a metro!!

We call it the MTR here, and it was a great time. Everything regarding transportation is super efficient in Hong Kong, it honestly blows my mind! I'm used to just walking or riding in a car back home, but here you have a myriad of transportation options: bus, taxi, walking, biking, ferry, MTR, Uber, tram, etc. We use our Octopus Cards to pay for most of it, and we add HK dollars to our cards whenever we're running low. I found out you can also "go negative" with your card if you over-spend and it's fine as long as you add more money later. You basically can use your Octopus Card for everything, even groceries.

Millicent showed us around the mall, which is sooooo big omg, and we explored the outside portion too. Lots of pretty flowers, blue skies, and skyscrapers. We ate at a super popular dessert place, which was totally my vibe!! Pink, cutesy, and sweets:)

You know I love trying new things, so I ordered a coconut with pudding, mango, taro, and pearls.

It was sooooo good!!

The decorations were adorable too.

The best part was that we could go with a group of friends as long as we sat two-and-two!

Since it's still winter, the store manager thought it was funny to see us all in "summer clothes"---hey, I'm not complaining, it's 70 degrees and sunny 😎 She took a picture with all of us and even gave us a discount hahaha.
Next we went to a few more stores, and my favorite was an earring store, with earrings from wall to wall. I was too overwhelmed to pick one out, but I ended up buying a super cute bow that I wear in my hair all the time now. Don't worry, you'll see it in future posts/pics!

Such a fun day of city-living, but I was definitely excited to go for a hike the next day--read my next post for more! :)
xoxo
