That's a lot of Buddhas!

"Make happy those who are near, and those who are far will come."
If I'm being completely honest, I've been putting off the blog the past month to make the most of my time here! We've been go go go! Since I'm on spring break and now have some time to reflect and relax, your inbox is about to be poppin with notifications from the ZoZone🤪 sorry not sorry teehee:)
A few of us checked out the Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery a few months ago (and I'm just now writing about it lol) and loved it! It's located just a short walk from Sha Tin, which is a popular mall close by us (and where we went to Ikea!)
The Ten Thousand Buddhas Monastery is a hidden gem in my mind because it's so close to the mall where everyone goes to get their shopping done yet not the most visited thing in Hong Kong. We climbed the seemingly endless staircase in awe, gazing at golden Buddhas on each side of us each step of the way. We also passed by several signs saying to "beware of fake monks" asking for money, and several signs warning us not to feed the wildlife.

As you can see, there are so many! Each statue was so unique, and a few were deteriorating a bit from the elements.

I nicknamed this one big-arm-Buddha:

And this one six-foot-Buddha:

And this one I gave the nickname I'll-show-you-Buddha:

Okay I shouldn't make jokes about them but I couldn't help it.
Overall it was super cool visiting this gem and I enjoyed learning about the Buddhas and seeing some locals come to worship and make offerings. Everything is so ornate and beautiful!

(if you look closely, you'll see a bunch of hands)
I thought it was super cool to see the Yin & Yang with the animals of the zodiac:
