From boat tours to cozy dinners, what a busy week of GLOBE intro events!

"Gotta be tourists before we can be locals" -- me 😉

It's been about a week since my last blog post, and oh how the time flies! Let me catch you up on everything that's been happening :)

The CBS'ers planned out a whole intro week with events for us, including a super cozy Danish dinner at Anastasia's house. We had tarteletter, which is similar to America's chicken pot pie. We also sampled some koldskål, which is a summery dessert-soup-yogurt dish. Our hosts were fantastic, and afterwards we met up with all the GLOBE people at the bar to celebrate our time together.

Last Sunday, the Danes took us to Reffen, which is an outdoors street food area with meals from all over the world. Craving Indian cuisine, I ordered some butter chicken :)

It was so nice seeing everyone together, and the vibes were exactly what we needed for an overcast yet beautiful weather kind of day! After our bike ride and meal, some of the peeps grabbed a beer while we sat outside and chatted next to the water. Honestly don't know how they drink so much here, I'm good with like once a week😂 Random, but there was a bungee jumping opportunity at this place, so Emily and some of the others tried it out!! Looked super fun--we all cheered from the sidelines while the venue was blasting I'M NOT AFRAAAAID and YOU BETTER LOSE YOURSELF IN THE MUSIC😤😤

Another fun activity the Danes planned was taking us on these little boats around the canal! As you can see from the very first picture in this post, Philip let me be the captain for a bit--let's just say I let him take over after about five minutes so I wouldn't crash us into the side🙃 It was a great afternoon navigating the canals and getting a good view of Copenhagen from the water. As Andreas said, the GoBoats have a pretty low max speed, so they simply "put put" across the water.

Lots and lots of bike riding here!

Emily, Anna, and I explored the Danish National Museum last week, which turned out to be huge! There were so many floors about Danish history, starting all the way back from before the Stone Age.

Ooooo also! Another fun thing we did as a girls adventure was swimming in the Island Brygges Harbor, which was on my bucket list! The water was ice-bath-level cold, but we jumped in from the top of the platform and I swam around for a few minutes for my marathon training, before hopping out to chill and listen to music next to the water with the rest of the group.

Fun fact, we also started class (who is she?) last week! But the rest of our classes start this coming week, so we only had to go two days. Look how pretty this building is where we had class! It's Ikea-meets-Zoë-aesthetic. One side of the building is blue, and the other is pink. Maybe they were inspired by Sleeping Beauty's "make it pink!" "make it blue" dilemma.

Yesterday we took a day trip to Bakken, which is the oldest amusement park in the world! It's surrounded by a park that is home to thousands of deer, which is super cool! We saw plenty of deer while we munched on pizza and gazed at the historic buildings. It feels less Carowinds and more festival/fair vibes. There's no entry fee, but you pay for individual rides. Since Denmark, shocker, is expensive, we only road a couple rides. We challenged each other to all ride a rollercoaster and make a straight face with our arms up, so here's my great attempt: 😂 I definitely want to go back to this area (only about a 45 minute bike ride, but we took the train) to run and see more deer in the nature park! It's a lot more "wild" then the other manicured parks around Copenhagen. For example, Emily and I biked to the Botanical Gardens and spent a few hours just laying in the grass under the sun, chatting about any and everything. But Bakken's park seems great for running and walking around the trees and paths.

Think that's enough for one blog post. I'll craft another one right now, so you can enjoy my BOGO marketing skills😜

xoxo
