..."Here we GOOOOOOO!" (Please tell me y'all remember those Disney VHS tapes with the ad where he's flying by saying that)

"He who returns from a journey is not the same as he who left."
I've got it. It's infectious. And no, I'm not talking about Covid-19. I'm talking about: the. travel. bug. And if you thought Zoë living it up in Hong Kong for six months (after quarantining in a hotel alone for 21 days!) was wild enough, guess what: she's back at it again. For this coming semester, I'll be traveling to Copenhagen, Denmark, for another semester studying abroad!
As you saw, I always had sooo many posts to catch up on from Hong Kong! Sadly, there are still many blog posts that haven't been officially published yet even though I have tons of stories and content for them. Where does the time go? Moving forward, I'll be keeping a travel journal for my reflections and trying to schedule blog writing sessions each week or so to share my adventures with you all.
I'm big on list-writing, self reflection, and goal setting, so here is a quick snapshot of some of my thoughts and updates:
This summer, I worked as a Recruiting intern and had an amazing time sourcing & interviewing candidates, creating internal newsletters for the company, and researching/brainstorming diversity, equity, & inclusion initiatives. I also worked at Cava with my brother (shoutout to free food mmhmm!)
Emily, Jordyn, and I went on a road trip to New Orleans, San Antonio, Austin, and Alabama for our vacation week!! Loved those beignets, cowboy hats, and Tex Mex meals as we listened to our Spotify playlists about twice each in the car and dealt with high humidity the whole way.
I've been training for a marathon--so far it's been fun, tough, sweaty, and full of dedication. In October, I plan on running the Sparkasse Marathon in Europe: it goes through THREE COUNTRIES (Germany, Austria, & Switzerland)!
Hoping to travel throughout Europe if restrictions allow. Stay tuned for more adventures...Italy?! Iceland?! Eeeee I can't wait to share once I go!
Last semester I went the whole five-ish months with no sim card. I don't plan on that same idea, buuuuut that being said, I will still try to stay disconnected from my phone and connected to the present moment.
Since we can travel more freely, I am striving to become more independent and confident with my own decisions. Solo days might be fantastic again!
I am beyond excited to revive this blog and share it with you.
The ZoZone is not just a blog, it is a mentality. Vivacious, positive, and resilient. Thank you for coming along this journey with me.
xoxo
